| 英文描述 | Abscesses due to C. PSEUDOTUBERCULOSIS are common in horses in the Western U.S., especially in California. Abscesses can occur in any part of the body, most commonly in the ventral pectoral, axillary, abdominal and inguinal regions; can also occur internally, in which case the prognosis for recovery is lower. Development of the lesion is slow, but may be noticed suddenly by the owner. Can be lame if the abscess affects the limbs. Peak incidence is in the summer and fall. Dx by culture. There are also reports of systemic illness due to bacteremia with hematogenous spread of the disease. |
